We observed last week that Facebook has reformatted her Facebook mobile theme. It didn’t come that sudden but it began with a light yellow colouration of the Notification link and now we have an almost brand new Facebook mobile theme!
Facebook recently published the Timeline link and app to Facebook mobile site users.
The Timeline feature which faced not a little privacy violation criticism in early 2012 when we first wrote about it now changes the user Profile to a page that exposes the account holder’s activities from his very second of using Facebook. The picture displayed below is a shot of one of Mymobnet!‘s account that started operation on 2008
Reacting to this new development, many users we spoke with said plainly that they don’t feel comfortable with the public display of their activities that have been long forgotten. One of them, a member of the Batch C Corps Members of the NYSC told us plainly that “Facebook is no longer secured…”
However, we at Mymobnet! love Facebook timeline! What is the Facebook status update and activity log meant for if not for public viewing? Users still have the option of deleting any of their activity that affects their privacy in an unfavourable way.
Mymobnet! Team recently tested the Etisalat Daily Facebook plan to know what it is made of. The much appetising plan boasted of giving it’s subscribers access to the mobile Facebook app at N25 per day. The service was fun at first when we opted in especially considering the speed with which Etisalat deducted our N25. No problem with that. Their welcome message reads:
You are now on Daily Facebook plan; click on http://d.fb.me/985 to download app. To opt out of auto-renewal at validity, dial *229*0*0#
But when we began browsing with the Facebook mobile app for Android as theirlink suggests, behold, all the extra cash on our phone got burnt up as fuel would do during the harmattan! Is this our deal, Etisalat? We wondered! Though it was unusual, attempt to get to their customer care proved unsuccessful. We only tested this plan with Android: Samsung Galaxy young pros running Gingerbread system 2.3 Mymobnet! hereby warns her readers to beware of Etisalat Daily Facebook plan!
